International independent rights company Coolabi Group and theatre specialists, the Birmingham Stage Company (BSC), have today announced the world premiere of Beast Quest Live, the first ever live theatre production of the global publishing phenomenon, Beast Quest.

Launching in February 2020 and running until November 2021, Beast Quest Live will embark on a nationwide tour of the UK, visiting cities such as Manchester, London, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, York, Birmingham and Nottingham, plus many more.

The live show, which will be based on the first six books of the best-selling fantasy series follows central character, Tom, as he battles against magical dark forces and Beasts.

The BSC produces David Walliams’ Gangsta Granny, Billionaire Boy and all stage shows for Horrible Histories. They have been collaborating closely with Working Partners, a Coolabi company, who write and develop the popular book series, to craft and shape the narrative of Beast Quest Live.

The Birmingham Stage Company said today: “The BSC is hugely excited to be entering the realm of Beast Quest which encompasses such a thrilling and exhilarating world for children to explore. We can’t wait to dive into a world that includes beasts, wizards and brave young people ready to fight for the survival of their kingdom.”

Beast Quest Live is adapted and directed by Neal Foster, designed by Jackie Trousdale, lighting by Jason Taylor, and sound by Nick Sagar.

Since launching in 2007, the Beast Quest book series has sold over 20 million copies globally, across 120 titles, and has been translated into over 30 languages. The book series is published in the UK by Orchard Books a Hachette imprint.

The new live stage production follows a successful run of the Beast Quest interactive experience at Hampton Court Palace, which took place in October 2018. The experience enticed thousands of visitors along to the historic royal palace, which was transformed into a mythical Beast Quest world with magical beasts and actors.

Brand extensions include the Beast Quest Miniclip mobile-gaming app, a Beast Quest console game for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, The new mobile-gaming app, currently in development with Animoca Brands, is due for release in Spring 2019.
