DOMO-NATION EXPANDS ACROSS THE GLOBE WITH FIRST UK & EIRE LICENSING AGENT, COOLABI GROUP

Internet sensation Domo continues to expand his presence abroad as brand licensing and marketing company Big Tent Entertainment announced today Coolabi has joined the team as a new licensing agent for the popular meme while also reaching new agreements with Matrak and Bensons Trading Company to further establish Domo internationally with lines of apparel, accessories, plush, novelty items, and more.

Coolabi, a United Kingdom based company that specializes in the ownership, development, and creative management of high quality intellectual property assets, has been tapped to be the exclusive licensing agent for the character in the UK and Ireland. Coolabi will look to expand Domo’s presence in the territory with new deals for apparel, plush, accessories, household items, games, and more. The company’s other properties include Poppy Cat, Purple Ronnie, Beast Quest and Clangers.

In addition to its agreement with Coolabi, Big Tent Entertainment announces further expansion internationally. Matrak, a Turkish company that creates and sells cool, humorous apparel and accessories has been signed to launch a line of Domo t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, and mugs in Turkey to be sold at specialty and gift stores, online, and at MatrakShop.com.  Bensons Trading Company is extending its successful contract with Big Tent to include a wide range of new Domo products including plush, show bags, inflatables, balls, key chains, stationary sets, badges, stickers, and tumblers. The products will be available in Australia and New Zealand at stationary and gift stores, specialty stores, Bensons’ website, and as prizes at carnivals, theme parks, and amusement centers.

Domo’s unique look and personality as the mascot for Japanese public broadcaster NHK quickly catapulted the character into one of the Internet’s biggest sensations. As the reigning poster child for personalized, user-generated content, Domo has found a home as a pop culture icon within the online viral community with hundreds of thousands of fan-made images, websites and videos posted to websites such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Flickr, among others.  Now more than a decade later, the lovable fuzzy brown character’s cult status continues to grow with product flying off retail shelves.
