Poppy Cat sets out on a summer of fun!

Coolabi’s hit pre-school brand Poppy Cat is creating even more extraordinary adventures for children this Summer as she teams up with Fun Kids Radio and the LolliBop Festival to bring dancing, music and prizes to pre-schoolers across the UK.

Throughout this month, Fun Kids Radio, the UK’s only radio station dedicated to children, is going Poppy Cat crazy. Its 200,000 listeners are being treated to a series of features about Poppy Cat and her friends, broadcast more than 100 times across the month. Listeners can also win Poppy Cat prizes, and visitors to the Fun Kids Radio website can see a specially recorded “Copy Poppy” dance video featuring Poppy Cat and Fun Kids presenter Josh.

Continuing the excitement, Poppy Cat is also making a guest appearance at this year’s LolliBop Festival, the UK’s biggest festival for the under 10s, taking place in Regents Park from 17-19 August. The event plays host to the very first performances of Poppy Cat’s 15-minute live stage show when she will be encouraging kids to get on their feet and “Copy Poppy”, as well as hosting reading sessions for young ones featuring Macmillan’s new Poppy Cat books in the LolliBooks tent. Poppy Cat toys from Golden Bear will also be featured in sponsor John Lewis’ toy tent at the event, and activity sheets will been given out across the weekend with a competition to win a bumper pack of Poppy Cat goodies.

Poppy Cat’s Summer of Fun is being communicated to all her Facebook and Twitter followers, with LolliBop also announcing Poppy Cat’s appearance to its 18,000 Facebook fans.

Natasha Dyson, Head of Licensing at Coolabi, says: “Poppy Cat continues to gain momentum. The activity we’ve put in place this Summer with Fun Kids Radio and LolliBop, coupled with the show flying high on TV, and the first products now hitting shelves across the UK, looks to herald the start of an extraordinary Summer to remember for Poppy Cat.”

The Poppy Cat TV series brings to life the wonderful world of the preschool children’s character created by Lara Jones in the book series that has sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide. The series is co-produced by Coolabi’s television production arm Coolabi Productions and the Emmy shortlisted and BAFTA award-winning King Rollo Films.

Internationally, with sales to almost 100 territories, Poppy Cat has become a top rating show on Sprout in the US, and also started airing on new NBC Kids block from July. In addition, Poppy Cat started her French adventures in June, broadcast in the key Zouzous slot on France5.
